Skin Boosters

What are Skin Booster treatments?

The treatment involves hydrating micro injections of Hyaluronic Acid, a soft gel like substance called hyaluronic acid. Water loving Hyaluronic Acid is found naturally in the body where it maintains hydration levels in the skin. As we age the quality of Hyaluronic Acid diminishes over time. With Skin Boosters the skin’s firmness, elasticity, radiance and natural hydration is improved.

What are the benefits of Skin Boosters?

They are a fantastic way to improve the overall appearance and quality of your skin.

Are there any side effects?

Skin boosters are a safe treatment with little to no downtime. As with any injectable treatment you may experience swelling, bruising and redness to the injection site - you can use arnica gel on the area to help this if you wish. It's common to have small bumps where the product was injected but these typically disappear within a few hours as the products disperses in the skin.

Do not touch the area for 6 hours after your treatment
No makeup on the area for 24 hours
Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours
Avoid facials, sunbeds, chemical peels, sauna, swimming for 2 weeks approx.

How regularly will I need treatments?

Following the initial treatment, your body will gradually break down the HA in Skin boosters over the course of several months.

In the first instance we recommend 2 or 3 sessions, approximately four weeks apart. Following this initial treatment plan, we recommend maintaining it with a one-off session every 9-12 months as desired.

Who can have this treatment?

Skin boosters are versatile treatments that can be used:

For men and women of all skin types
For people with younger or more mature skin
For people who want to improve skin structure, e.g. in acne- scarred or photo-damaged skin

What areas of the body can be treated?

Because Skin boosters are so versatile, they can be used to treat the hands, lips, neck and décolletage as well as the face.

During your initial consultation, you will be able to talk your practitioner about which areas you would like to see improvements in, to create a personalised treatment plan.

Does it hurt?

As with any injectable treatment you may experience minor discomfort but the treatment is very quick and numbing cream is available should you wish to use it at your appointment.

Downtime

Skin boosters are a quick treatment with little to no downtime.

Aftercare

Following the treatment, you may experience some slight redness or minor bruising around the treatment areas, this should subside after a few days, but in some cases bruising may last for up to 2 weeks.

A clean cooling pad can be used after the treatment to help reduce swelling, but avoid applying make-up on your skin immediately after the treatment.

After a rest of about 24 hours, if needed, you can use light make-up to cover any redness or bruising.

You should also avoid excessive sun or extreme cold at least until any initial swelling/redness resolves
